CPMD2 STEEL HISTORY
CPMD2 is a high carbon, high chromium tool steel that is used for knifemaking and metalworking. It is made by powderizing and re-smelting D-2 steel powder, which results in more evenly distributed carbides than D-2 steel. This improves the steel's toughness, corrosion resistance, and heat treatment response.
Here are some things to keep in mind about CPMD2 and what M3 Tactical Tech does to set us apart from the competition, WE ARE THE BEST BECAUSE WE DO NOT CUT CORNERS OR NICKEL AND DIME OUR PROJECTS TO DEATH TO SAVE A FEW BUCKS AND FINANCIALLY RAPE OUR CUSTOMERS. We poor more money into our product that any other brand on the market. Furthermore, we do not just talk a big talk. We are well loved by our customers and owner Kevin Moore give his personal cell phone number out everywhere he goes. (623)521-3495
If you ever have a warranty issue or concern, text him directly. Our knives are guaranteed and like the famous Chris Farley line from Tommy Boy that he got from his father in the movie, a guarantee is only as good as the man who makes it. Come meet Kevin Moore and his family at any of the gun shows in Arizona or one of his sales crew led by prior 12B Combat Engineer Zachary Wick, yes, Wick, and he was a Wick well before Keanu made it cool. If you're reading this Keanu, I would love to hang out with you even just for an hour. You're my kind of cat brutha. Made respect for all you do on and off the screen to be real.
- Corrosion Resistance
CPMD2 may not offer the best corrosion resistance (this is why we coat our blades with a high grade PVD coating). While D2 has enough chromium to be considered stainless, its high carbon content means that too much chromium carbide is formed.
- Heat Treatment
When heat treated and ground properly, CPMD2 is very versatile and can be used in many applications. (this is why we send our blades out for professional heat treat with companies that heat treat for the aerospace industry and are well educated beyond what is called for heat treating edged weapons, we have the top individuals and teams working on our product from our shop and a few outsourcing like heat treat and custom hardware manufacturing, sheaths, packaging...)
- Cryogenic processing
Some studies claim that a long hold time in liquid nitrogen or dry ice can improve edge retention. However, one comparison found no difference in edge retention between a 36 hour cryo and no cryo D2 at similar hardness. (this is why we err on the side of caution and cryo treat every one of our blade regardless of the steel type. Through his own testing and the testing of his vast network in the 2A and operator and prior operator community Owner, Kevin Moore has found that the benefits of cryogenic treatment / processing is far greater than what is advertised. Because it does not cost much more to process cryo, Kevin and his team have decided to include the cryo treatment in the cost of the knife and not mark it up additionally just to take advantage of our customer's lack of knowledge.

DESIGN HISTORY
The Sicarii[a] (“Knife-wielder”, “dagger-wielder”, “dagger-bearer”; from Latin sica = dagger) were a group of Jews who, in the final decades of the Second Temple period, conducted a campaign of "terror-kidnapping, extortion, robbery, and murder" against other Jews and Romans,[1] and became known for a reported mass suicide at the Siege of Masada. The Sicarii carried sicae, or small daggers (sickles), concealed in their cloaks;[2] at public gatherings, they pulled out these daggers to attack, blending into the crowd after the deed to escape detection.
The only source for the history of the Sicarii is Josephus. Victims of the Sicarii are said by Josephus to have included the High Priest Jonathan, and 700 Jewish women and children at Ein Gedi.[3][4]
A relationship between the Zealots and the Sicarii is often stated, but is unclear from the original sources.[1]
The Sicarii are one of the earliest known organized assassination units of cloak and daggers, predating the Order of Assassins and the Japanese ninja by centuries.
